Monthly delivery services like Birchbox and Eco-Emi have been all the rage lately and now it’s time to say hello to the new kid on the block: the newly launched Conscious Box. This is a better for you and the planet box because it focuses on “sustainability, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.” The purpose of Conscious Box is to introduce its subscribers to pure, natural and organic products from snacks to beauty products and everything in between.
Conscious box costs $19 a month and is usually at or above a $30 value. It arrives at your doorstep each month no later than the 15th after being shipped out during the first week of the month. At this time they only ship within the continental US but are working to expand their empire to include other countries.
The company works really hard to make the planet a better place. The make every effort to create no waste. Their boxes are made of recycled materials printed with soy based inks and filled with recycled tissue paper. They also work with 1% for the Planet which means 1% of every purchase goes to a good cause. Conscious box even helps to support the American work force by employing Americans who are paid fair wages for their work.
Every box has a theme, for example this months was all about gratitude, which could not be any more perfect for the month of November. The items inside the box reflect the current theme. I was so excited about the prospect of what could be inside of the box when it arrived and I was not at all disappointed.
Let’s talk about the edible items first, shall we? Let me preface this by saying that I may just be the pickiest eater in the known universe. With that being said – I enjoyed getting to try all of the munchies in the box, especially the Living Nutz Bodacious Banana Bread Walnutz, which was this months extra. I’m not the biggest fan of bananas but these nuts were absolutely delicious, and devoured within a few minutes after opening with good intentions of only sampling one at that moment. I’m a huge fan of freeze dried fruit so I was happy to see Funky Monkey Pink Pineapple (freeze dried pineapple with guava). Also included was a yummy pouch of Honest Kid’s Apple-y Ever After juice (loved it!), the tried and true fruit and nut Kind Bar, and a Mary’s Gone Crackers “N’Oatmeal Raisin” Cookie.
Also in the box - two small boxes of all-natural, sugar-free Glee Gum in Lemon-Lime and Refesh-Mint. The mint kind is hands down my favorite! There was also a packette of Reserveager CocoaWell energy capsules, which I haven’t tried. I have a heart condition, so I won’t be using these.
Lastly is the beauty category where I found one company I love and one I hadn’t tried before but am happy I got the chance to. There were 2 packages of 100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream (you know I love the grape one!) in Vanilla Bean and Green Apple. I love these! They last a long time and smell great! Finally, there were also two Pharmacopia products included: their Verbena Body Wash and Verbena Body Lotion. I really like these, and they smell delectable.
