Talk About Cosmetics - Gabriel Cosmetics Multi Pot Review

Once it starts getting chilly outside I love switching from powder to cream products and lately I have been experimenting with the Multi Pot from Gabriel Cosmetics. When you purchase a Multi Pot for a little less than $30 you’re getting a natural and healthy 3 in 1 product designed to be used on lips, cheeks, and eyes that comes in 4 flattering shades.

I have the shade Florentina, which is described by the company as a “bronzed pink with neutral undertones”. While it can be used in 3 different ways, my favorite way to use this particular shade is as a blush. It can be applied as a sheer wash of color or built up to be a little more bold, which is what I prefer. It is a very natural looking color and defines my cheeks in a very pretty and subtle way.

Please apologize the fingerprints in the product. The photos I took before I used it didn't turn out.

It also wears extremely well on my cheeks and doesn’t fade or turn patchy throughout the day. It is moisturizing without being too heavy or thick and gives my skin a nice fresh, dewy look.

I don’t really enjoy using this as a lip color because it is slightly drying (totally weird since it feels so silky on my cheeks) on my sensitive lips. It is also nearly the exact color of my lips but it makes them look flat and strange.

I do like it as a sheer eye shadow though. Since it is a bronze-pink shade it doesn’t make me look like I’m ill or have pink eye, and it’s an easy product to apply in a hurry to look like I put a little effort into my makeup look. It doesn’t seem to crease much on my lids either.

In this photo I am wearing Florentina on my lids, lips and cheeks.

The other downside is the packaging. It isn’t the most sturdy packaging ever and it feels a little cheap but that doesn’t affect the product inside so it’s really not that big of a deal unless you’re only attracted to fancy packaging.

The ingredients list is super simple and made up of only the following: Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Olive Fruit Extract, Mica, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Magnolia Acumita Bark Extract and Iron Oxides. It is also gluten-free as well as cruelty free and made in the US! I don’t detect a scent or a flavor, so it would be perfect for even those with the most sensitive noses.

You can learn more about Gabriel Cosmetics by visiting their website here. You can also check out the other shades of the Multi Pot, or purchase your favorite one, by clicking here.

Talk About Cosmetics - Painted Earth Mineral Sheer Matte Bronzer

Hellllllooooo Beautiful! I hope you are having a fantastic day!

I can freely and openly admit to the world that I am a bronzer junkie. I like to think of myself as an expert on all things bronze so I decree that from this moment on you should refer to me only as THE Bronzer Queen… just kidding! That would be super weird if I did that, but in reality, I do love bronzer! I love makeup in general but if I absolutely had to pick a favorite type of product I would no doubt choose bronzer. I can even go as far as to select a favorite bronzing product, which I have been using fanatically since it made its home in my makeup collection in May.

I am talking about Painted Earth’s Mineral Sheer Matte Bronzer in Sunkissed. Never have I worn a bronzer that convinces those around me that I have a natural sunkissed glow about me as well as this one does. When I use this bronzer it’s frankly like I am applying hours of basking in the sun directly to my face with a brush, instead of harmful UV rays. The color is perfect and never looks orange, muddy, or dirty and the texture of the powder is so fine and silky soft it seems to blend into the skin.

I swirl the colors together with a big, fluffy Kabuki brush and apply to the points of my face where the sun would naturally hit (forehead, cheekbones, chin, and nose) and get a lovely wash of bronze glow from it. I have also used this bronzer on my eyelids as well. I could go on and on about this stuff but I’ll leave it at this – I’m in love with it! It’s a little pricey at $33 but since a little goes a long way I think it is totally worth the investment.

You can visit Painted Earth online by clicking here to be taken to their website. You can also visit Painted Earth on Facebook and Twitter.

(FTC : This bronzer was given to me free of charge for review consideration by the company. I am not being compensated for this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own and honest. Being given this product for free has not changed my opinion about it. )

Talk About Cosmetics - Mineral Hygienics

Lets talk minerals… mineral makeup that is! I first started experimenting with mineral foundation way back in 2006 during my college days. I discovered that applying a light dusting of the stuff was much easier and more time efficient than liquids and creams when I was running late to class. I also discovered that I preferred the feel and finish of mineral powder.

These days I have been using Mineral Hygienics and their cruelty free, 100% natural formulas. I have really been enjoying the look and feel of the products I got to try. In addition to being pure, animal friendly, and fabulous, the products actually come in fairly large jars so you’re getting a good amount of product for your dollar!

The company has 15 shades of their Sheer Mineral Foundation with both cool and warm undertones, from the fairest of the fair to deep shades, so everyone should be able to find their perfect shade. I was sent Light, Medium Light, and Medium. Light and Medium are perfect for me since they have a slightly more yellow undertone (Medium Light is a little pink and is perfect for my Mom!) and I actually wear both at the same time. What I do is use Light in the center of my face and Medium around the outer parts of my face, which helps add dimension. However, they are very similar in color and both work well for my skin tone.

The ingredients list of Mineral Hygienics foundation is comprised of Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Mica and may also contain Iron Oxides and Ultra Marines. The formula is very fine in texture and blends into the skin really easily. It almost melts into the skin once applied and looks flawless, but not in an artificial way. It never looks flat, nor does it have shimmer that makes it look overly luminous. The formula has a very natural looking finish that can be applied in a sheer layer or built up for more coverage. It also doesn’t irritate my skin like some other mineral foundations can.

In addition to the Sheer Mineral Foundation I have also been using the Sheer Perfection Mineral Finish in Transluscent. It seems a little strange to set powder with powder but this particular product can be used as a powder primer that evens out the tone and texture of the skin or as a finishing touch on top of foundation. I find that I don’t use this every day but I do, however, like to use this to touch up when I start to get a little shiny in the afternoon or evening.

The final Mineral Hygienics product that I have been using is the Cool Kiss Mineral Bronzer. This product is a shimmery, cool-toned Mineral Enhancer that doesn’t look great on my skin. I have found that it is just a touch too shimmery for my tastes for me to wear as a cheek product but it looks so amazing as an eye shadow! I’ve been rocking it on my lids and really love the effect!

I was also sent the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush and it couldn’t be more perfect for buffing my minerals into the skin with. It provides such an even coverage, has super soft and fairly dense bristles, and is the perfect size and shape. I absolutely love the handle because it makes it a little easier to use than regular kabuki brushes.

Talk About Cosmetics - Badger Lip Tint & Shimmer/Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

Several months ago I walked out to my mailbox to discover a random Badger Lip Tint and Shimmer. Wait, that sounds a bit creepy. It was sealed and in an envelope. It was just random because I had never tried Badger products before nor had any interaction with the company. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. Since then, the Badger Lip Tint has become one of my favorite easy lip shades.

I received the color Garnet, which is a really pretty berry shade. On the other end is an Opal Shimmer balm, which when applied over the top of Garnet turns into a lighter plum/pink shade. This product also comes in Red Jasper, Rose Tourmaline, and Copper. To view the ingredients and other shades of this Lip Tint you can click here.

My lips are typically so sensitive and over reactive to products like this that I was a bit worried about trying it out but once I did all of my worries were cast aside. My lips seem to love this stuff! It’s hydrating, long lasting, and imparts such a pretty color on the lips. It’s not sticky, chalky, gooey or uncomfortable to wear. It has no artificial scent and instead smells of cocoa.

I liked this tinted lip balm so much that I actually purchased a Badger Cocoa Butter Lip Balm in Vanilla Bean, which I also really love. It feels so great on the lips and moisturizes amazingly well. I really like to keep this in my bag since it comes in a jumbo .25 oz tube and is easy to find. This also comes in 6 other flavors that I’m curious about since I like the taste and scent of the Vanilla Bean so much.

You can learn more about the company and their products by visiting their website by clicking here.

(FTC: The Lip Tint & Shimmer was sent to me free of charge for review consideration. I paid for the Vanilla Bean Cocoa Butter Lip Balm with my own money. I am not being compensated to write this review. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own and honest.)

Talk About Cosmetics - Alima Pure Delicious Summer

Oh Alima Pure, I love you. It’s no secret to you, or any of my readers, but I felt the need to profess my love for you again in honor of your brand new Delicious Summer collection. Beginning today the limited edition Summer 2013 collection is available for you to purchase here and at select retailers worldwide. The collection has a $45 value and retails for $36.

This gorgeous warm weather ready collection features two eyeshadows and a blush including:
Milkshake Eyeshadow – Creamy beige with silver sparkles
Coffee Frappe Luminous Shimmer Eyeshadow – Medium golden brown with golden shimmer
Strawberry Lemonade Luminous Shimmer Blush – peachy pink with subtle shimmer

I love color but when it comes to makeup I love using different shades of neutrals, mostly browns, on my eyes so I really love these two shadows. Coffee Frappe is packed with golden shimmer and even though Milkshake has silver shimmer in it I feel like it comes off as more of a matte on the skin. They are both lovely, very wearable, and pair together perfectly.

Strawberry Lemonade Luminous Shimmer Blush is a knockout for the warmer months. It is VERY pigmented so I suggest using a light hand to apply if you are fair or light skinned like me. The color is very flattering and would look great on most skin tones. The shimmer is very subtle so you don’t have to worry about looking like a disco ball.

In the photos above I'm wearing Milkshake all over the lid and Coffee Frappe lightly blended into the crease as well as along the top and bottom lash line. I'm also wearing Strawberry Lemonade on the cheeks. The look I went for is very light and wearable but you can certainly use these shades to do something a little more dramatic.

As always, all Alima Pure products are totally natural and cruelty free.

You can check out the Delicious Summer collection by clicking here. You can also visit Alima Pure on Facebook or Twitter.

(FTC : Alima Pure provided me with free deluxe sized samples for review consideration. I am not being compensated for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own and honest.)

Talk About It - Vapour Organic Beauty - - Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of my Vapour Organic Beauty review! Today we’re talking lips and cheeks! Let’s jump right in, shall we?

The Siren Lipstick in Tempt 401, described as a classic medium mauve, is the perfect MLBB (my lips but better) shade for me. You all know how sensitive my lips are but this lipstick is great for me since it is non-irritating, longwearing, and super moisturizing. I absolutely love and adore everything about this lipstick!

If you’re a gloss lover then you might be interested in checking out the Elixir Lip Gloss or Elixir Plumping Lip Gloss. I don’t find the plumping version to be very plumping at all but I don’t mind that since my lips are fairly full as is. The Elixir Lip Gloss comes in a squeeze tube while the Elixir Plumping Lip Gloss comes in a lovely glass tube with a brush applicator. Neither are sticky, goopy, or tacky. Both lip-glosses are very hydrating and wearable (meaning they don’t look like little girl lip glosses, as some can). The shade of Elixir Plumping Lip Gloss I received is Pout 407, a sheer pinky nude, and the shade of Elixir Lip Gloss I’ve been testing is Enigma 305, a sparkling lilac mauve.

Vapour’s Aura Multi-Use Blush Classic adds the perfect touch of color to lips, eyes or cheeks. This product comes in 5 pretty shades including a light peachy pink, sheer pinky peach, fuchsia, rose, and a sheer soft pink. I’ve been using the soft pink shade, called Crush 201, and love it as a blush color. It’s soft a velvety product that adds a lovely glow to the cheeks. It blends so easily and wears well throughout the day. This shade is one I would have never chosen for myself but it’s unbelievably flattering on me and I really love it.

The final product I want to talk about in this two-part review is the Trick Stick in the shade Dazzle 702, a shimmering golden highlight. Trick Stick is described as “the Makeup Artist’s secret for a lit–from–within glow”. I’ve tried many highlighters in my time and this one is possibly my favorite since it’s not loaded with chunky or iridescent glitter. It’s very sheer and wearable. I particularly like to use the product on my brow bones and inner corners of the eye as well as my cupid’s bow.

Something I forgot to mention in part one of this review is that all of these products have a very light citrus-y scent to them and even though I typically don’t like my products to have any fragrance, I really like this one. I also forgot to mention how lovely, albeit simple, Vapour’s packaging is. I really love the quality and look of each and every product.

Despite the fact that Vapour products have a bit of a higher price tag than some of the other brands out there, I highly recommend you check out the line. The quality as well as the variety of products is truly impeccable and as I mentioned in part one, since these products are waterless they will last a lot longer than the typical natural cosmetic so it’s totally worth the splurge in my opinion.

Talk About It - Vapour Organic Beauty - - Part 1

My passion for cosmetics was born many, many years ago while playing as a small child in my Mom’s train case. In my late teen years my love grew to encompass high end products when I discovered Sephora and makeup groups on MySpace. Then I went green and everything changed. I discovered that most commercial makeup contained icky, and frankly quite terrifying ingredients that no one should ever apply to their skin.

Sometimes “natural” makeup can leave us with a lot of questions about what is truly natural and what really works. Vapour Organic Beauty leaves no unanswered questions behind thanks to their lovely shade selection, wide array of products, and truly healthy formulations.

Vapour products are 100% natural and made with Certified Organic, minimally processed, food-grade ingredients. Their formulations contain 70% organic ingredients and 30% vitamins and minerals. You will never find parabens, phalates, gluten, artificial fragrance or color, nano particles, or any other toxic chemicals in their cosmetics or skin care. You'll also never have to worry about these products being tested on our furry friends since they are cruelty free and Leaping Bunny Certified. Another plus, Vapour’s products are waterless so they have a shelf life of 2 years (short shelf life is my biggest complaint when it comes to natural cosmetics).

I could go on and on about the company (click here to learn more) and their awesome philosophy (click here to read about their values) but instead I think it’s time to talk about the face products. I have been playing around with Vapour products since November and have only nice things to say.

The first products I want to discuss are the Stratus Instant Skin Perfector and Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfector. I tried both of these in the shade 904, which “perfects & color balances light to medium sallow/olive skin”. Essentially both of these are the same product, although the Stratus Instant Skin Perfector comes in stick form and is suited for normal, dry, and mature skin while the Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfector is a liquid that comes in a pump bottle that works best for normal, combination, and oily skin types. The stick version has a more dewy finish while the liquid is more of a sheer satin.

These skin perfectors are amazing. They are described as an “organic BB Cream; a 3–in–1 moisturizer, primer and no-color foundation”. At first I was really apprehensive about these because they look really shimmery but upon application skin feels silky soft and looks radiant, diffused, and super smooth. I love the way both feel on my skin, under makeup or alone. I’ve been reaching for the Stratus Soft Focus more often while my Mom who has more mature skin prefers the Stratus Instant Skin Perfector.

Let’s talk foundation next. I’ve been wearing 115 in both the Atmosphere Luminous Foundation (stick) and Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation (liquid). I really like both versions and the color could not be more perfect for me. I like the Luminous version for day to day wear since it has a light to medium coverage and the Soft Focus for days when I need a little more coverage as it offers medium to full coverage. These never feel heavy or look caked on. These formulations blend magically and seamlessly into the skin and basically make your skin look like your skin, only better. Vapour’s foundation just might be the best foundation I have ever worn!

Next up is the Illusionist Concealer in 020. This shade is a bit too dark for me during these cold, winter months but I’m thinking I’ll be able to use it in the summer. It works on my face if blended in really well but it doesn’t work under my eyes, which is where I need the most coverage. It feels as light as the foundations do and seems to melt into skin. I’ll come back to this product when my skin gets a bit darker and tell you more about it then.

If you’re interested in this luxurious line of natural cosmetics you can visit their website to purchase their products or learn more. You can check out the second part of my Vapour Organic Beauty review, which features my thoughts on some of their lip and cheek products, by clicking here.

Talk About It - Alima Pure Black Tie Gala

One thing that never fails to excite me is when I go to my mailbox and discover a mystery package from Alima Pure. What does this package mean, you may ask? It’s time for a new collection and I absolutely love and adore Alimas limited edition collections. Wait, let’s get real; I really just adore Alima Pure in general, and their newest collection did not disappoint.

Alima Pures Holiday 2012 Collection is all about glamour, and is appropriately named Black Tie Gala. There are two separate parts of this collection, both of which are gorgeous. I really like all aspects of this collection.

The first is Black Tie Gala – Eye, which comes with 4 shimmery shadows that can be combined in many different ways to add a little dazzle and sparkle to any look. For $36 you get 4 full-sized mineral eyeshadows with a value of $50 in an Alima Pure signature gift box. These shadows are seriously pretty! They wear well and can be used in a subtle or dramatic way.

The Black Tie Gala Eye set includes:
Bijou – shimmering champagne
Minauderie – warm bronze
Ball Gown – mossy green with gold shimmer (while not a shade I would normally be drawn to, I’m really enjoying this eyeshadow since it’s stunning!)
Stilettos – deep, smoky purple with silver shimmer

The second piece of the limited edition Holiday puzzle is Black Tie Gala – Face, which is comprised of a matte blush, shimmer eyeliner, and shimmer powder. This set also retails for $36, and has a retail value of $45. These 3 products go perfectly with the eye set, although they look lovely on their own as well.

The Black Tie Gala Face Set includes:
Chandelier Highlighter – peach shimmer
Red Carpet Blush – warm matte rose (which is an absolutely beautiful blush that is super flattering and wearable. I’m in love with this blush!)
Tuxedo Eyeliner – very deep, blackened purple with shimmer

Alima Pure has created yet another collection worth looking into it. You can visit Alima Pure online by clicking here.

(FTC: Alima Pure sent me samples of these products to try out and review. I am not being compensated to write this review. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own and honest.)

Talk About It - Monave Mineral Makeup + Giveaway!

I’m really happy to bring you another review of a cosmetics company and their wonderful mineral makeup review today. Monave Mineral Makeup is the brainchild of Deborah Bilezikian, who had the dream of creating a line of simple, high quality, and high performance products. To read about the journey that Deborah took to create Monave click here.

All Monave products are made using the highest quality mineral makeup ingredients. Their formulas are completely gluten free and 95% of their products are vegan (the other 5%, like their potted and liquid glosses, contain beeswax – the only animal byproduct they use!). You will never see parabens, dyes, or bismuth oxychloride in the ingredient list of any Monave products nor will you need to worry that their products have been tested on animals, because they haven’t! To check out the ingredients that make up each product you can click here

I tried out a few foundation products and love all of them! My absolute favorite, however, is the Loose Mineral Foundation in Kerrie. Kerrie is the perfect color for me and I’m so happy that it works so well. I have fair skin that has a slight yellow undertone. The website says that it’s perfect for those who have a “peaches and cream complexion”. The coverage this mineral powder provides is really remarkable as it completely evens out the skin tone without making my face look flat. It seems to last all day and stays looking nice. It works well on it’s own or over a liquid or cream foundation, which is something I like to do when I want an impeccably flawless finish.

I also tested out the Cream Foundation and Vegan Mousse Foundations in the color Claire. Claire is a light shade that works for those with neutral or pink undertones. I said above that I have a yellow undertone but it’s very slight so I can also use shades like this one. The Cream Foundation is a little heavier and thicker than the Vegan Moisture Mousse but both formulas are really great. Both varieties apply easily, blend well, and look nice on the skin while providing coverage. They both sink into my skin as opposed to sitting on top so it doesn’t ever look like I’m wearing a mask or too much makeup. I like both a lot but I’d say that I’ve been reaching for the cream version more often since it feels so silky smooth and since my Mom raided my makeup stash (which she is more than welcome to do as often as she wishes) and fell in love with the mousse.

I decided to choose a very neutral, every day wear kind of eye shadow to test out from Monave and ending up going for Crème Brulee. This shade is completely matte and works wonderfully as a base shade on the lid. It helps cover up redness and allows the eyelid to become a blank canvas, which is the perfect first step in doing any eye look. This is a bit darker than my skin tone so it looks nice on it’s own too. The formula is very smooth and easy to blend and work with.

The last product, and the only one I didn’t like, is the Mineral Bronzer in the color Gran Marnier. It is totally my fault that I didn’t fall in love with this product. There is nothing wrong with the formula, it’s just this particular shade doesn’t do anything at all for my skin tone. The powder itself is nice and smooth but the color I picked doesn’t really show up on my skin. On a brighter note - it’s matte, which is a quality I look for in a bronzer.

(Wearing the Cream Foundation in Claire, Loose Mineral Foundation in Kerrie, Gran Marnier Bronzer, and Creme Brulee Eyeshadow)

In addition to mineral makeup, Monave sells a wide variety of other products including facial and body skin care, hair care, kits to create your own products, and they even do wholesale. Deborah believes that “all women deserve high quality, natural makeup, so Monavé has a wide array of shades for all complexions, lifestyles and ages.” There is literally a Monave product that is perfect for everyone so check out the website today!

Monave has so graciously offered a DIY Natural Lip Kit for one of you, my lovely readers, to win! To enter to win use the Rafflecopter form below.

Talk About It - Red Apple Lipstick

Fall is the perfect time to play around with makeup. Bolder lips and darker eyes are fun ways to experiment with new looks and I recently got to try a couple of products from Red Apple Lipsticks. I got to pick two products to try so I chose one lipstick (the companies name is Red Apple Lipsticks so I didn’t want to skip trying one of their lip products) and an eye shadow. I know you Beauties have been asking me to do more makeup reviews so here it is!

Red Apple Lipstick was created by Texan Jay Adam Harper in 2007 and has only grown since then. All of Harper’s products are completely safe and healthy, meaning they are free from parabens, gluten, lead, soy and animal byproducts. Are they also cruelty free and made in the US? You betcha!

The lipstick I selected is Strawberry Lips, which is a gorgeous muted red with a touch of brown in it. It is glitter and shimmer free, which is my preferred type of lipstick finish, although it does have a very subtle shine to it. This shade is wonderfully buildable. It can be worn as a pretty dark pink or a deeper red, with each layer making the look darker. I’m not sure if what I’m about to say is going to make any sense at all but I consider this shade to be a nude red. It’s almost the color of my lips, but richer. I can see why this is one of their best sellers! Also, Strawberry Lips is the perfect name for this one since it is reminiscent of the color of ripe strawberries.

As for the formula, you know how sensitive my lips are and this lipstick irritates them a bit but it isn’t my typical full-blown reaction so I’m not sure what’s going on. My lips are so weird! Anyway, this lipstick is easy to apply and wear. It’s not superbly moisturizing but it’s not drying either and it’s comfortable on the lips. I like wearing it with a balm underneath (which is something I do with most lipsticks).

If you’re curious about the ingredients, the following are what make up the lipstick: Ricinus Communis, Candelilla Wax, Shea Butter, Oleic/Linoleic/Linolenic Polyglycerides, Carnauba Wax, Cera Alba, Sesame Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate from an all natural non gluten source, Almond Oil , Tangerine Peel Oil, Essence of Vanilla, May Contain: Titanium Dioxide ,Manganese Violet, Mica, Iron Oxide.

The star of the show for me is the Red Apple Lipstick Eye Shadow I tried. I chose Twinkle Taupe and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. It’s an absolutely stunning shade that is a must have in any makeup lovers collection. It is described by the company as a “plum based bronze”. It is the perfect shade for amping up any neutral look. It’s extremely wearable and flattering. It has a satin finish so it’s suitable for all ages. The formula of this shadow is lovely. It’s smooth, pigmented, longwearing, and easy to blend. The slogan on the back of the packaging says “Gluten Free Mineral Eye Shadow That Totally Rocks” and I couldn’t agree more. This eye shadow really does rock!

The eye shadow is made with: Mica, Zinc Oxide, Silica, Ascorbyl Palmitate. May contain iron oxides, titanium dioxide, chromium, green, and ultra marines.

(Strawberry Lips - 1 coat, Strawberry Lips - 3 Coats, Twinkle Taupe)

Talk About It - MarieNatie Cosmetics

Today I have a couple of great cosmetics to talk about from a Canadian company called MarieNatie. Marie, the founder of MarieNatie Cosmetics, discovered that many products contain harsh and toxic chemicals so she set out to create her own line of healthy, natural cosmetics. She researched, carefully selected ingredients, and tested and retested formulas until she was confident that she had created the best natural cosmetics available.

All MarieNatie Cosmetics are free from parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes and fragrances, petro-chemicals and phthalates. In addition to creating safe cosmetics MarieNatie is also cruelty free. All of their products are made in Canada.

I got to try out 3 of their products, my favorite of which is a Loose Mineral Eyeshadow in Chocolate. This eyeshadow is made from Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Ultra Silk Mica, Sericite Mica, Kaolin Clay, and Mica. The formula is incredibly smooth, easy to apply, easy to blend, and easy to wear. The color is long lasting and insanely gorgeous! Chocolate is a cocoa brown color with golden shimmer. They have 9 lovely shades but Chocolate was practically made for me! I’m not afraid to say that I’m slightly obsessed.

Next up is one of the most flattering and wearable lip-glosses I have in my collection, which is the MarieNatie Lip Gloss in Sexy Red. This gloss is made of Jojoba Oil, Carnauba Wax, Candelilla Wax, Vitamin E and Vitamin E Acetate, Pomegranate Oil, Sunflower Oil, Grapefruit Seed Oil, Mica, and Essential Oil. It’s superbly hydrating, non-sticky, and long lasting. The packaging is almost as lovely as the color. Sexy Red sounds like it might be a bold, deep red but it’s actually a sheer slightly rusty orange-red shade that looks very natural on my lips. It isn’t overly shiny, and is actually quite subtle. It’s absolutely gorgeous and it doesn’t irritate my lips in the least bit.

(I'm actually wearing the Chocolate Loose Mineral Eyeshadow and Sexy Red Lip Gloss in this photo)

The last product I got to try out is the Blue Eyeliner, which is my least favorite product. Don’t get me wrong, the eyeliner isn’t bad, it just isn’t phenomenal like the other two products I got to test out. This liner is formulated with Jojoba Oil, Castor Oil, Beeswax, Carnauba Wax, Oxide, and Mica. The problem I have with most natural liners is that they tug, skip and drag but this one is actually pretty smooth. The color is a lovely blue shade and it’s very wearable. I just find that I don’t reach for this very often, but it is nice and I do like it.

(Swatches of Blue Eyeliner, Sexy Red Lip Gloss, and Chocolate Loose Mineral Eyeshadow)

Overall, MarieNatie Cosmetics are worth trying out. Their products are made of really great ingredients and are high quality cosmetics with a wide variety of gorgeous shades. You can learn more about the company or products by visiting them online, where you can also purchase their cosmetics.

Talk About It - DleCosmetics

Today we are talking gorgeous gloss with a fantastic finish that comes in three shimmering shades. DleCosmetics creates the perfect gloss for green goddesses on the go. I recently had the opportunity to try all three of their glosses and have fallen in love. You all know how sensitive my lips are to gloss (let’s be honest, they’re sensitive to just about everything!) but this gloss is wonderful!

This all-natural gloss formula is incredible. This product has been formulated with all natural ingredients including Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Beeswax, Sunflower Seed Oil, Kaolin, Cocoa Butter, Carrot Powder, Shea Butter and Vitamin E, just to name a few.

These glosses are hydrating, nourishing, and completely visually stunning. My lips love the smoothness and hydration they provide. They are not sticky, gooey, or clumpy. While all three do have shimmer, none of them are chunky or too glittery, in fact they look like a more grown up version of the shimmery glosses that I loved when I was a young teen. All three shades are super flattering and easy to wear.

Pink Fetish is my favorite, but I really do love all three. Pink Fetish is the perfect pink for every day wear. It’s a very natural, delicate pink that has a lovely pearl finish. This color looks amazing with my coloring and I have a feeling it looks great on any and all skin tones. It is so wearable!

Jess Barely is a shimmering champagne that has the perfect balance between nude and pink. This is the least pigmented shade and appears sheer on my lips, but I still really like it. It makes a great gloss for layering over lipstick.

The final shade is Poison Apple, the perfect red gloss that even Snow White would love. In the tube this particular gloss can appear a bit intimidating if you’re not used to wearing bold shades but once applied to the lips it appears less intense and more like a sheer red berry shade. This one has the largest particles of shimmer/glitter but they’re not too big.

Now let us talk about the awesome and innovative packaging. Each gloss has a built in LED light that automatically lights up when the tube is opened. There is also a mirror built into the side of the packaging, which means no matter where you are you can apply your gloss perfectly making this the perfect gloss to keep in your purse. I used to have a little bit of a party girl side and I definitely could have used this back then.

The last thing I should mention is how affordable DleCosmetics Light Up Glosses are. Each costs $8.95 individually or you can purchase all three for $19.95. Their shipping is also great at a flat rate of $3.95.

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect all-natural gloss I highly suggest you check out DleCosmetics. I absolutely love their gloss and can’t wait to check out their fall shades.

Talk About It - Eco Lips +Giveaway! (closed)

Today we are talking lip balm, which is one of my absolute favorite topics. I have said it before and will say it time and time again, the truth is I’m obsessed with lip balms. However deep my love for lip balms runs, I’m very picky. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of lip balm and love trying new ones. I recently got to pick and try several Eco Lips lip balms and have found love with all four of them. None of them irritate my super sensitive lips, are handcrafted in the USA (Cedar Rapids, Iowa to be exact), and are cruelty free, eco-friendly and made with certified organic ingredients.

The first one I tried (and one of you will actually get to win your own tube of) is the Eco Lips Gold USDA Certified Organic Lip Balm. This lip balm is Fair Trade Certified, unflavored, unscented, and highly moisturizing. Its ingredient list is made up of Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Baobab Oil, Fair Trade Certified Organic Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Organic Rosemary Extract, and Organic Calendula Extract. It’s a simple lip balm but it’s incredibly long lasting and hydrating. My lips adore this balm and anybody and everybody would feel the same way. This lip balm (and the one that is up for giveaway) came with an Eco-Clip, which is a handy recycled aluminum carabiner.

Up next is the Ecotints lip balm I selected. I chose Plush Red, which is a gorgeous sheer red shade that suits me and my coloring. It has a very slight vanilla scent and flavor. It is very moisturizing and provides such a lovely buildable color. I absolutely love tinted lip balms and have decided that this one is my new favorite. I want to purchase the other shades too because this tinted lip balm is excellent and worth picking up in every color. It is very natural looking and smoothing. It’s ingredient list is comprised of Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Vanilla, Organic Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Iron Oxides, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, and Candelilla Wax.

I was really excited when I came across a lip balm created in mirror image of my favorite juice by Honest Kids. Despite that fact that I’m 25 years old, I still really love the Berry Berry Good Lemonade juice pouches and couldn’t pass up the Honest Kids Berry Berry Good Lemonade Lip Balm. Made up of Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Berry Flavor, Organic Lemon Flavor, Organic Coconut Oil, Vitamin E, and Organic Calendula Flower Extract it is 100% edible. It smells and tastes just like the juice I love so much. It’s seriously yummy!

The final lip balm I chose to take for a test drive is the ONE WORLD Relax Calming Lip Balm in Lavender Lemon. This lip balm is made with Fair Trade Cocoa Butter and Organic Sunflower Seed Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Grapeseed Oil, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Vanilla Flavor, Vitamin E, Organic Essential Oils of Lemon, Lavender, and Sweet Orange. It comes in an oversized tube coming in at .25 ounces. It smells so good, although it doesn’t have much of a flavor. It’s hydrating, soothing, and the lavender helps keep you relaxed. The combination of real lavender, lemon, and vanilla is a winner!

Talk About It - Alima Pure Foundation Selector Tool

Any makeup wearer knows how difficult choosing the perfect foundation can be. Shopping for the right match can seem like an impossible task and Alima Pure understands that with mineral foundation in 61 shades it can be hard to narrow it down. They have created a new Foundation Selector Tool, which allows you to find your perfect color. All you have to do is answer a few simple questions and they suggest the shades that are right for you.

After completing the short survey it will bring you to your foundation suggestions, which you can then purchase for $20. You will receive a signature Alima Pure Makeup Bag with 4 to 5 samples of foundation, a coordinating blush sample, and a cruelty-free baby kabuki brush. You will also get a $10 off coupon for their Basic Face Kit that will come in handy when you find the right shade for your skin.

I’m light and peachy with a subtle yellow undertone (don’t worry if you’re not sure what undertone your skin has because they walk you through the process) so the system picked Beige 2, Beige 3, Olive 0, Olive 1, and Olive 1.5 for me. I received all of the foundations except for Olive 1.5, a finishing powder in Keikio, and a Satin Matte Blush in the shade Bisque, which is described as a soft, earthy pink. I would never have picked these shades for myself but I’m so surprised with how well they work! They actually all look nice on my skin but the Beige 2 blends perfectly into my skin and disappears so I feel like it is the one for me; although it’s summer and my skin color is constantly changing despite my use of SPF so maybe in a month or so I’ll have to move up to one of the other shades.

All of Alima Pure's products are cruelty free and 100% natural. The Satin Matte foundation applies so easily and feels wonderful and smooth on the skin. Some mineral makeup makes my skin itch but not this one! It wears well and really helps give my skin an even, healthy, and natural look to it.

The bag that the set comes in is absolutely adorable and well made as is the brush. I am completely impressed with the brush! It’s so soft and distributes product evenly. The only thing that I’m not completely satisfied with is the blush. It’s a lovely color and it is very natural and effortless looking but it’s not the type of blush I would normally go for. It does look nice on my skin though but I just prefer a brighter blush.

If you have ever felt too intimidated by their large selection of foundation shades then this tool was made for you! Alima Pure could not have made the process any easier and I’m excited to say that I have met my match. Now it is your turn! Good luck!

Talk About It - DeVine Lip Shimmers

Summer is almost here, which for me, means it’s time to streamline my beauty routine. When the temperature starts to rise, I love to use products that do more than one thing, like lip balms that impart moisture as well as nourish, protect, and tint the lips. DeVine Lip Shimmers meet all of my expectations and then some, while being 100% natural and eco-friendly.

DeVine Lip Shimmers utilizes the healthy benefits of wine grapes. Wine grapes are rich in Polyphenols and the super strength antioxidant Resveratrol which helps fight free radicals and help prevent cell damage. In addition to the superhero antioxidants, the company also uses sunflower seed oil, beeswax, castor seed oil, coconut oil, shea butter, grape seed oil, candelilla wax and vitamin E to help hydrate, protect, and soften the thin skin of the lips. They are also gluten and cruelty free.

The company has five flattering shades that are created using mica, iron oxide, and titanium dioxide. The colors are Merlot (a deep berry that smells of berries), Rose (soft pink), Vanilla Spritzer (color and shimmerless, and smells like it’s name), Bordeaux (black cherry flavor and hue), and Champagne (sheer nude and smells like strawberries).
Each thin tube of DeVine Lip Shimmer is incredibly smooth and moisturizing. They are not sticky, heavy, greasy, or overpowering. The formulation of this product is light while ultra hydrating. They smell and taste really great too! I just love the different shades. I would have to say that Champagne and Merlot are my favorites, although I do like the entire collection. They go on easily and wear well throughout the day. They last a very long time and make the lips feel comfortable.

You can purchase each lip shimmer individually for $4.50 or in a pack of two for $7. They also sell a gift set that includes 3 lip shimmers for $12.50. To buy your very own DeVine Lip Shimmer or to learn more about the product and the company you can visit them online.

Talk About It - Alima Pure "Let Them Eat Cake" Collection

I really adore Alima Pure and their wonderful mineral makeup and I’m head over heels for their newest limited edition collection entitled Let Them Eat Cake. This collection is comprised of four incredibly unique and wearable shades based on sweet treats we all love to eat. I’m more of a salty girl but I do like to indulge myself in sweets sometimes, especially those designed to enliven the eyes and add a touch of glamour to any look.

I have reviewed two other Alima Pure collections prior to this one and I really loved both but I have to say this is my favorite one yet! I’m a neutral kind of gal but I try to avoid boring neutrals. If you’re like me in that regard then this is the set for you! The collection is made up of 4 cake inspired shades that are all zero calorie, guilt free, and 100% natural (as are all Alima Pure products).

First up is Angel Food, which is a golden honey shade with very fine shimmer to it. This shadow would work well as an all over color or even a highlight shade. Next is Strawberry Shortcake, a pale pink with fine shimmer and larger gold shimmer. This color is gorgeously sparkly and looks great on inner corners. Red Velvet, the stand out of the collection in my opinion, is the most amazing medium brown shade that has a red undertone and touch of shimmer. I love red-based browns and this is the best one that I have ever come across. It makes a lovely contour shade. Last but not least is the shade Devil’s Food, a deep, dark brown shimmery shadow which is great for lining or adding to the outer corners for a sultry effect.

As with the other collections I have tried, these 4 shadows are very pigmented, easy to work with, and long lasting. A little goes a very long way with these products and I absolutely think Alima Pure is worth a look. You can apply these shadows dry for a more subtle look or wet for more drama.

This collection is worth every penny and I have a feeling this collection won’t last long so hurry to checkout if you’re interested. The set comes in Alima Pure’s signature chocolate bag for only $32. $2 from each sale of this collection will be donated to the Global Fund for Women.

Talk About It - Ilia Pure Lip Care

Berry stained and barely there are my favorite lip looks and lately all I’ve been using are my beloved Ilia Lip Conditioners in Arabian Knights and Nobody’s Baby. I can’t even begin to describe the level of love, adoration, and respect I have for these lip products. I think I have a problem – seriously! I’ve never loved a colored lip product more (I say colored because if you’ve been with me for a while now you know of my addiction for lip balm).

Since receiving these two products at the beginning of November, I have reached for them more often than not; which is saying a lot since I have a decently sized lippie collection. I absolutely love them!

First thing I should mention is that the colors are fabulous. Ilia Pure Lip Care offers 6 different color choices but I chose Arabian Knights and Nobody’s Baby and I’m so glad that I did. They apply a lot like a lip balm, with the color payoff of a lipstick, the shine of a gloss, the conditioning ability of a lip treatment and all-natural, organic ingredients (like jojoba oil, cocoa butter, vitamin e, jasmine and orange blossom essential oils, and pomegranate). The color of each is sheer but buildable so you can get a number of different lip looks out of just one lip conditioner. The packaging is also something worthy of noting in this review – they come in an absolutely gorgeous, sleek and chic recycled aluminum tube. They also smell and taste nice.
Arabian Knights is possibly my favorite of the two but only by a hair. It’s a flattering berry shade that looks a bit intimidating in the tube but looks gorgeous on the lips. Like I said it’s sheer but buildable so you can wear it as a light berry stain or a more burgundy lip. Here is its official description: “Off in a far distant land, you wait under a warm, desert moon. Arabian Knights offers a fantasy of mystery and seduction. The deep tones of violet, and burgundy melt together forming a beautiful berry stain. An ideal shade that is easily carried from day to night.

Nobody’s Baby is on the opposite end of the color spectrum. It’s a pretty nude color that is neither too pink nor too brown. It doesn’t make me look dead like some nudes can and it compliments any and every eye makeup look. I think it would look fantastic on any complexion! Here is the description from their website: “The perfect, sheer nude suited for any occasion. Nobody’s Baby reflects your subtle need for quiet independence. You always get what you want, and tend to move through any situation with grace and ease.”

If you’re interested in learning more about Ilia Pure Lip Care you can find them online at http://iliabeauty.com/ where you can view the shades they offer, find a store who sells their products, and even shop online for your favorite lip conditioner.

Talk About It - Alima Pure Holiday 2011 Collections

Alima Pure is one of my absolute favorite mineral makeup brands and they have recently released their new limited edition Holiday 2011 Collection which includes two separate sets. Each set comes with 4 full-sized eye shadows and either a blush or a shimmer powder. Each costs $36 and $2 from each purchase goes to The Global Fund for Women. I’m so pleased with both collections! They are both adorably named and feature fabulous shades that are perfect for any Holiday or winter look. All of the shades in these collections are totally unique and unlike anything else in my collection. As with all Alima Pure eye shadows these are very easy to use, blend, and wear. They apply like a dream and wear well throughout the day.

Warm Inside features 3 warm eye shadows and a golden shimmer powder. These are perfect for an every day look in my opinion (although they can be used for an elegant evening look as well) and I have been reaching for them often.

Candlelight is a pale shimmery gold color perfect for highlighting brow bones and inner corners. Mulled Cider is a medium rose-gold sparkle that makes a great all over lid color. Hot Toddy is a deep bronze shimmer which makes a lovely crease, liner, or lower lid color. Firelight is the shimmer powder which is a luminous warm gold that looks glamorous on the cheekbones.

Cold Outside is made up of 3 cool-toned eye shadows and a matte blush. The shadows in this collection are all so icy
and gorgeous. The colors are so vibrant and fun to wear.

Snowdrift is a shimmery off-white color with a bit of silvery blue that looks great on the lids as an inner corner and brow bone highlight as well as all over the lid. Snow Angel is a light, but buildable, blue with silver sparkle which is a completely unique color perfect for the lid. Jack Frost is a deep blue based shimmery purple that makes an excellent crease, liner, or outer third shade. Rosy Cheeks is the perfect matte pink blush for getting that “it’s snowing outside” flush. I'm obsessed with this blush and I've been reaching for it daily. It's the perfect pink! *Sadly my camera died before I could get a good full face picture of this look.*

Both collections are very wearable and flattering, which hopefully you could tell from the photos I included. If you’re interested in owning your own Alima Pure Holiday Collection (or both!) I would suggest visiting http://alimapure.com before they’re all sold out!

Talk About It - Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques

Lauren Brooke has a commitment to help make the world a better place and a mission to uplift, educate and empower humanity. She believes in honoring and respecting all of life. Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques not only offers high quality makeup to green goddesses everywhere, they also contribute 10% of their profits to worthy charitable organizations and educational programs around the world. They also get their ingredients through direct purchasing to ensure fair trade, whenever possible. The shea butter, coconut oil, and essential oils used in their cosmetics come from Africa and India where local women process them to support their families.

How cool is their mission? I’m always in awe of women like Lauren who work hard to make the world a brighter place. I’m also in awe of her products! They’re wonderful. I got to try their Crème Foundation, Crème Concealer, Cheek Colour, and Eye Liner Pencil and each one is great. Let’s talk about them in the order of application.

The foundation is incredibly smooth, light, and comfortable on the skin. It provides a lovely amount of coverage while still looking natural. It evens out skin tone while still allowing the skin to breathe. It lasts all day long and leaves my skin feeling fresh, which is a fantastic and highly desirable trait in a foundation. It has a bit of a smell, but it’s not offensive or overpowering at all – It’s a nice clean scent. It doesn’t settle into lines or crease on the skin. Also, a little bit goes a very long way. Overall it is a really brilliant foundation with a ton of color options. There is a perfect match for everyone.

On to the crème concealer, which is very similar to the foundation in the fact that it has the same scent, and all of the same great perks. It’s also very smooth and light, but provides a lot more coverage. I feel as though a little bit of this goes a very long way and it works hard to disguise blemishes and baggage under the eyes. You can also use this as a heavy-duty foundation, but I haven’t tried that yet. I have a problem with concealers settling in my fine lines under the eyes but this stays smooth and keeps my eyes looking young.

The Cheek Colour I have is the shade Cancun which is a gorgeous bronze color. It adds a flattering and healthy looking glow to the skin without looking like a heavy layer of bronzer has been applied. It’s very subtle and works for providing year round radiance. It never looks orange or muddy. It’s a fantastic blush that comes in several other gorgeous colors as well. It applies evenly and looks great on my complexion.

Lastly is the Eye Liner Pencil which I have in Blue. This is a great liner and I love to use it on my lower lashline for a bit of eye-brightening color and definition. It’s a great formula that applies easily with no tugging, pulling, or dragging needed. It applies so effortlessly and lasts throughout the day. I haven’t experienced a problem with smudging, although it’s not marketed as water or smudge resistant. I love this liner, and this shade of blue is so wearable since it’s a dusty, navy blue.

If you love makeup and making a difference you should definitely check out Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques online by clicking here. You can even let them know which worthy charity or organization you want 10% of your purchase cost to go to. You can purchase online or you can find a store by clicking here.

Talk About It - Jane Iredale Naturally Confident Collection

>I have been having a love affair with a cosmetics line for a few months now, and my adoration for this company has only grown since the release of their fall color collection. Jane Iredale has truly captured my heart with their beautiful range of colors, smooth eye shadows, luxurious lip glosses and stains, and their amazing face products.

I reviewed several of their items a couple of months ago and if you couldn’t tell how much I liked their products then, you will certainly be able to after reading this review on the Naturally Confident Collection. The collection includes two Eye Steppes, three Lip Fixations, and an In Touch Highlighter.

Each Eye Steppes has 5 fabulous colors that work perfectly for a multitude of different looks from a soft, every day look to a sultry evening look, or any combination in between. The finishes of the shadows in each palette range from matte to satin to shimmer and you can mix and match to your hearts desire. They have an unbelievable soft and silky texture, which is something I always desire in a shadow. I also have noticed that they don’t crease and they are very blendable, as well as easy to work with.

The GoWarm Eye Steppes is my absolute favorite in this collection (although I really like everything!). The colors are so gorgeous and I have used this daily since it arrived on my doorstep. The colors in this Eye Steppes are Beach, Steamy, Sunshine, Mojito and Sandals and they are certainly aptly named because they invoke images of a warm, summer day. It comes in a lovely gold compact. As the name suggests these shadows are very warm toned and look best on those who like earth tones.

(Look using GoWarm on the eyes and Mania on the lips)

The GoCool Eye Steppes comes in a silver compact and is filled with flirty purple tones. It includes Ice, Mittens, Cold Snap, Zhivago, and Mulled Wine (which just happens to be my favorite shade). They may look a little intimidating to neutral gals but rest assured when I tell you that these purples are super wearable. They are cool toned and they’ll make you look like a snow princess, perfect for the cooler months!

(Look with GoCool on the eyes and Relish on the lips)

Next up is the Complete In Touch Highlighter which is a fabulous icy, pink cream to powder product that gives skin the gorgeous glow that we all covet. Dewey skin is in and this product helps me achieve the look that I want each and every day. It doesn’t have any noticeable shimmer or glitter and instead it provides the skin with a natural and subtle sheen. It smells delicious (slightly citrusy) and feels great on my cheekbones. I also use this on my browbones and down the center of my nose. It makes me look healthy, never greasy.

Like I mentioned before, there are 3 Lip Fixations in this collection. Lip Fixations are a really cool 2 in 1 lip product featuring a stain on one end and a gloss on the other. They feel great on the lips (and don’t dry my super sensitive lips out at all) and better than any other lip stain I have ever used before. They don’t feather or fade out strangely once they dry. It feels comfortable all day long and comes in gorgeous colors. Mania is my favorite, and is a warm, golden bronzey-pink shade with a shimmery gold gloss. Passion is a cherry color (that would be flattering on anyone) that comes with a clear gloss. The final color in this collection is Relish, which is an eggplant purple with gold shimmer and a clear glitter gloss. The glosses also smell really good, and slightly sweet without being completely overpowering.

(Passion)

I absolutely love Jane Iredale products, and if you have any questions or comments about the collection or other products feel free to ask in the comments section. If you want more information you can visit http://www.janeiredale.com/ where they even have a virtual makeover room where you can “test” products on a model. Let me know if you have any Jane Iredale products and what you think of them!

Talk About It - Honeybee Gardens Truly Natural Mascara + GIVEAWAY (CLOSED)

If you ask women who wear cosmetics to pick their one absolute makeup must have chances are at least half of them would answer mascara. Would you?

Mascara dates all the way back to approximately 4000 BC when Ancient Egyptians lined their eyes, covered their lashes, and coated their eyebrows with a mixture of kohl, water, dung and honey. They used bone and ivory to apply the kohl mixture. The eyes were considered to be the windows to the soul so they used it to ward off evil spirits and bad energy. Men and women alike wore mascara.

Mascara was used throughout the centuries (women experimented with their own mascara concoctions at home) but it wasn’t until 1917 that the first mascara was born. The founder of Maybelline, Eugene Rimmel, created and marketed a formula that was made of petroleum and black coal dust. Luckily for us, mascara and cosmetics as a whole have come a very long way in the past 94 years.

These days there are tons of options, and the world of green and natural mascara is constantly expanding. One of the best natural mascaras I have found and used is from a company called Honeybee Gardens. Their Truly Natural Mascara is truly amazing.

Honeybee Gardens was started in 2005 and they never test on animals, package their products in recyclable materials, and use the highest quality natural and organic ingredients they can. They strive to, "Create pure, all-natural bath and body care products made from only the finest organic ingredients, offer them at a reasonable price, and treat every customer like a friend."

I love their mascara. It doesn’t clump, flake, or irritate my eyes. It’s extremely lightweight which is a must have for me. I’ve noticed that some natural mascaras feel heavy, thick and uncomfortable on my lashes but this one keeps them looking and feeling soft and weightless.

This mascara makes my eyelashes look longer, more voluminous and separated. I don’t ever have a problem with my curl not holding so I can’t attest to curl hold-ability. It is not waterproof, but that makes me happy because I’m not a fan of waterproof mascara formulations. It is water-resistant and safe for contact wearers. I find that it doesn’t smudge throughout the day or travel. The brush is a pretty standard brush with regular bristles, but the formula is incredible.

The price could not get any better. It’s only $10.99, which is comparable to drugstore mascara prices. It comes in 3 different shades – black magic, espresso (black/brown), and chocolate truffle (brown). This 100% natural mascara is fantastic and you can find it online by clicking here.

Honeybee Gardens has so generously allowed to give my lovely readers the chance to win their very own Truly Natural Mascara in their choice of color.

Talk About It - Painted Earth (Part 2: Cosmetics)

Happy Thursday, Beautiful! I’m excited to be here to bring you part 2 of my Painted Earth special. Today were talking about their cosmetics, so lets get started. If you missed part one you can click here.

My new daily foundation is their Perfect Every Thyme Baked Mineral Foundation. This product is a baked mineral foundation that provides just enough coverage to look naturally flawless. I’ve been using it every day and I couldn’t be happier with it. I have the color Dover Beige and it blends perfectly into my skin. It doesn’t settle into lines or just sit on top of my face. It looks like it melts into my skin to help minimize the appearance of pores and even out my skin tone. I prefer lighter foundation, so this is perfect for me. It is build-able but I feel like those of you who prefer heavier coverage won’t enjoy this as much as I do.

It makes my skin feel so soft and it applies like a dream! It’s so easy to use and it’s got a lot of great ingredients including mica, jojoba and safflower oils, lavender, thyme, green tea, vitamin e, rosemary and magnolia bark. This would be perfect for any skin type from oily to dry and even sensitive. It doesn’t clog my pores or make me look “made up”. This product lets my skin breathe and lets it look like my skin, only better. The compact comes with quite a bit of domed product too, so it will last a while, even with daily use.

The Ultimate Volume Mascara is a fantastically awesome mascara. It is a fiber-based mascara, which means that the formula has fibers that attach to the ends of your lashes to make them longer. My lashes aren’t particularly short and stubby but they aren’t super long and luxurious either, however, when I wear this mascara you would never know that. This stuff makes my lashes look like falsies and I love it! It’s great for adding length and drama.

To finish up Part 2 of Painted Earth we are going to talk about the Loose Mineral Eye Shimmer that I have in Tan-Talizing, a color that I would call a gold/copper hybrid. I really like this color, for the simple fact that it makes my blue-gray eyes look very intense and vibrant. It’s a gorgeous, highly pigmented shade and the shadow is really soft and blendable. It wears well and lasts all day. If you pat the color on there is hardly any fall out and it’s milled so finely that it’s got a subtle shimmer as opposed to chunky glitter. This is a very nice mineral eye shadow.

If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments section and if you’re curious about any Painted Earth products check them out online.

Talk About It - Bite Beauty

Bite Beauty is collection of lip products that are made with all-natural, good enough to eat ingredients. They are completely safe and nontoxic as well as highly pigmented and long lasting. They feature reservatol, which is a super antioxidant that has a large fan following, organic shea butter, super foods, and food grade color.

They offer a wide range of products a vast array of shades from nude to burgundy and everything in between. Their product line includes Luminous Crème Lipstick, Vitamin Gel, Lip Shine, Superfruit butter and the 3 products I got to try which are the: High Pigment Matte Pencil, Lip Rouge, and the SPF 15 Sheer Balm. Every type of glam goddess will have their pick of their perfect product whether you like a dramatic pout, sheer tinted lips, or a creamy and flawless mouth.

Let’s start with my favorite first, which just happens to be the SPF 15 Sheer Balm – you guys know how much I adore tinted lip balms! I have the shade Crème that is a nude pink color, and it looks incredible on me. It’s very wearable and flattering on my pale skin. I have darker pigmented colored lips and the combo is great. It’s really moisturizing and keeps doing its job for hours. It also tastes lovely since it has organic mint and blood orange essential oils. It can be used on it’s own for daily use or layered under another product for a more intense effect.

Next up is the Lip Rouge, which also can double up as a cheek color. I have the color Apple. Apple is a red shade and it’s not exactly a typical color I would have picked for myself but it’s a nice change. You can easily build up the color. It’s very smooth on the lips since it has jojoba oil, but I have yet to try it on my cheeks seeing as I’m not sure I can pull off a red toned cheek. It’s small and compact so it’s perfect for tossing in your bag.

Lastly, is the High Pigment Pencil which I have in the color Bramble, described as a black currant color (again, not my typical color choice). This pencil is a really cool concept that makes applying lip color so simple and precise. It’s like a really chubby lip crayon. It takes the guesswork out of applying lipstick, since it has a much more precise point. It’s completely matte and very longwearing. The color payoff is incredible.

Talk About It - Revolution Organics

Today’s Talk About It is all about Revolution Organics and their fantastic all natural Freedom Lip Glosses and Freedom Glow Beauty Balms. This company has been getting a lot of attention lately including being featured in InStyle, O Magazine, Lucky, Whole Living, Marie Claire and dozens of other magazines. Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe even proclaimed her love for Freedom Glow by naming it one of her top 10 conscience cosmetics.

After being able to try their products, it’s not a surprise that Revolution Organics is such a hot topic. I truly believe that their products are superstars of the Natural and Organic cosmetics world. Melissa Shabinsky and Alexandra Zanella, the creators of the company, took a brilliant idea and turned it into a reality.

Their idea sprung from a personal desire to simplify their lives and make the most healthy and responsible lifestyle choices they could, down to the cosmetics that they used. They wanted products that were not only healthy but also luxurious and multi-purpose. Their website says, “Our vision translated into a collection of healthy, pure, certified organic products that filled our beauty void … we hope it fills yours.”

They certainly filled my beauty void! I love their products. The colors are remarkable and the textures are so smooth. They only use organic plant-based ingredients (like oils, herbs, butters and perfume blends) that benefit the skin in some way, so they help your skin instead of harming it and they really are excellent multi-taskers. They were designed to do more so you can use less. They are also USDA approved!

Their product line includes 5 Freedom Lip Glosses, 3 Freedom Glow Beauty Balms, an All-Over Skin Crème, an All-Over Body Balm, and a Lip Balm. I was sent the lip glosses and the beauty balm to try and I can’t begin to tell you how obsessed I am with them! All 8 products I have from Revolution Organics are utterly fantastic.

Freedom Lip Gloss comes in 5 shades with adorable packaging and a clever name. These are perfect for me since they have no sticky, tacky feeling to them whatsoever. They are also really moisturizing and have a lovely color payoff. They are made with organic plant proteins and extracts as well as jojoba oil, shea butter, aloe vera, olive oil, beeswax, and mineral based pigments. They are chocked full of vitamins and antioxidants and they are packaged in an eco-friendly tube that is recyclable and biodegradable. They are a bit pricey at $26 each, but it’s worth it, because do you know how much lip gloss and lip stick women eat on average in their lifetime? It’s gross!

Here is a rundown of the shades:
Innocent is a really soft baby pink
Integrity is a shimmering golden rose
Truth is a sheer pink
Freedom is a strawberry red
Vibe is a warm peach

I was attracted to all of the colors but I was a little put off by Vibe at first, because it appeared to be kind of a rusty shade that I wasn't sure would flatter my skin tone, but once I applied it I fell in love. It really warms up my complexion and looks great! All of the shades are very wearable and lovely.

For as much as I love the Freedom Lip Glosses, I’m even more passionate about the Freedom Glow Beauty Balms which have become my go-to beauty products. Freedom Glow Beauty Balms are creamy stick products that can be used anywhere – eye lids, lips, cheeks, and even décolleté – that come in 3 flattering colors, and really provides a glow. Just like the lip gloss these are 100% natural and healthy.

They have a gorgeous, dewy finish that makes you look like you’re glowing from the inside. They’re perfect for travel, tossing in your purse when you’re on the run, or keeping on your vanity. They are super blendable, creamy and hydrating, and really easy to use. All 3 shades look great on me, and I’m really addicted to all of them.

(Bronzed is a golden tan, Sunkissed is a coral peach, and Blushed is a pink)

I even use Bronzed as my contour color and apply either Sunkissed or Blushed on my apples. I think Blushed will be especially perfect in the winter for a “just came in from the cold” flush. All 3 colors are very natural and would work for anyone. I don’t have a favorite shade although I probably get the most use out of Bronzed.

If you’re interested in Revolution Organics you can find them at http://www.revolutionorganics.com and if you try anything please let me know what you think. I highly recommend these products, and I’ll be showing you how to use them once I get my new youtube channel up and running. See you soon, beauties!

Talk About It - 100% Pure

How cool would it be if a cosmetic company used fruit pigments to provide color to their products? Well luckily for us, there is a company who actually does this called 100% Pure Cosmetics. They formulate their products to be not only beautiful and beneficial but also nourishing, as they are chocked full of vitamins and antioxidants. Their products are exactly what their name implies – completely pure and natural and I’m really liking them! I especially love their cosmetics, and I plan on getting more because they are THAT awesome!

This company is marvelous, so let me tell you just a few reasons why: Every single one of their products are made without parabens, sulfates, synthetic chemicals, chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, artificial colors, detergents, or any toxic ingredients. They never test on animals and are vegan, with the exception of their products that contain cruelty free honey. They are also gluten free! All of this information I just threw at you means one thing – 100% pure products are safe for everyone!

I want to start off with my favorite product – the Fruit Pigmented Powdered Blush. I’ve never been more in love with a blush before now. It’s absolutely amazing and I have used it every day since I got it because it’s the most flattering blush I have ever worn. I have the color healthy which is described on their website as a coral bronze color but I don’t think that does it justice. I think its kind of a pinkish-tawny-bronzey natural looking color. It’s like my natural flush, only better! It has mica, which is a natural shimmer, but I don’t notice any shimmer on my skin at all which I like. It goes on smoothly and easily, lasts all day, and comes in the cutest packaging ever. This is my new favorite blush and I think it will continue to hold that title for a very long time.

Woo… that was long winded, but it deserves an entire blog post dedicated to its amazing-ness but I’ll leave it at that.

I also got to try a Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze, and I have the shade Vixen. Vixen is described as a coral color but I would say its more on the pink side. Its one of the most flattering lip colors that I have, and it doesn’t bother my lips (which we know happens a lot!). I really like the package, in fact, I like the companies packaging in general. The formula is so silky and really makes my lips feel great. You should check out the ingredient list, it’s superb!

Next up is the Carrot Facial Scrub. I really love scrubs in general and I really look forward to biweekly scrubbing sessions. First of all, this scrub smells incredible! It’s a very gentle scrub, so it can be used daily if desire and would even work for those with the most sensitive skin, and it’s hydrating too. It leaves my skin feeling really, really, really soft.

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot about one of my favorite things ever – grape scented lotion! I was sent some foil packets of the Cabernet Grape and Green Apple Body Cream and the grape is absolutely divine. I need to purchase a full size tube of this ASAP. It smells exactly like Grapeheads, which sent me into another weird craving spell where I drank grape soda and ate Grapeheads nonstop for about a week.

Okay, now I’m done.

Have you ever tried 100% Pure Cosmetics? I want to know your experience if you have, or if you haven’t just tell me which products you’d be interested in trying. You can find them online here. Check them out and let me know what you think. Have a great day, beauties!
